Bishop To Preach on May 21st
Bishop R. William Franklin will visit Grace Church on Sunday, May 21st and address the congregation at the 10:00am service. This is his first visit to Grace and is marked as an official visit of the Diocess of Long Island Bishop to Massapequa. There is no 8:00am service on May 21st.
Bishop Franklin is Assisting Bishop of LongIsland. He was Bishop of the Diocese of Western New York from 2011 – April 2019; and previously served at St. Mark's Church, Philadelphia; at St. Paul's Within the Walls in Rome, for five years; as Associate Director of the American Academy in Rome; and Associate Priest of the Anglican Centre in Rome.
Earlier, he served as Dean of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, as a professor at the General Theological Seminary in New York and at St. John's University in Minnesota.
He holds a BA from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Church History from Harvard.
