Lenten 40-Day Food Drive

Lenten Forty Day Food Drive
Dear Parish and Day School Families:
“Let us not grow tired of Doing Good”
During Lent, as we prepare for Easter, we are encouraged to pray, to fast or sacrifice and maybe even more so to take on a service or charitable project. In that vein, please find attached a Lenten 40-Day Walking Path to help continue feeding the hungry on Long Island.
At our 2022 Advent Food Drive we collected 2004 pounds of food and toiletries which equates to 1670 meals for those with food insecurity. The food that we donated to Island Harvest was distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and shelters across the Island.
If you start your path on Ash Wednesday, February 22, it will end on Holy Saturday, April 8. The pathway contains the most requested Food Bank items. Please give based on what’s in your heart. Maybe ask a family member, a neighbor, or a friend to participate in Grace’s efforts as well. Let’s show Long Island how much we care!
For your convenience, collections will be made on:
Thursday, March 23 8 AM to 12 Noon
Wednesday, March 29 8 AM to 12 Noon
Saturday, April 8 8 AM to 12 Noon
There are 6 items listed on the pathway each of the 7 weeks of Lent, which hopefully will make purchasing a little bit easier. Please check the expiration dates on your donations, your packages are sealed, cans are not dented and you don’t include glass jars. Drive up to the tent in the southwest corner of the Church/School parking lot, pop your trunk and your boxes/bags will be off-loaded.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Debi and Richie Csajko
