Grace Episcopal Church was filled to capacity with people eager to celebrate the Christmas season with a festive tree lighting and concert Sunday evening. The afternoon began with Lorraine Brucato and Cynthia Smith setting up shop with holiday crafts, cookies and cocoa.  St. Nick was on hand to receive visitors. Grace and Pre-K students sang to a packed crowd of more than 600. Our pre-k students signed to Silent Night as Grace Choir member, Stephanie Steiner, beautifully sang the lyrics. The voices of both the St. Rose and Grace Choirs magnificently filled the Church.   The official tree for the Lighting Ceremony came to life with strings of colored lights outside the Church. To help light the tree, Rev. Walter Hillebrand was joined by Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor, Joseph Saladino, County Court Judge Rhonda Fischer, Town Councilman Thomas Hand and Massapequa Park Village Trustee and parishioner, Rich Begandy and Harbor Green Association Greg Lowry.. Singer, actor Kieran Kerekes treated spectators to the classic O Tannenbaum in English and German. Special thanks to David Hairston, choirmaster and organist at Grace Church. Thank you parents, students, faculty, parishioners and neighbors who helped support this event. Christmas Begins at Grace!
