Food collection on Thursday, December 23, between 8 AM and 2 PM

Dear Grace Families:

Grace Episcopal Church and School is sponsoring a food drive during Advent (Nov. 28-Dec. 23) to benefit Island Harvest - a Food Bank for Long Island.   With so many people here on Long Island still facing food insecurity, we feel it is important for us to count our blessings and take up the challenge to fill a box for a family less fortunate than ours with the suggested items listed on the attached Reverse Advent Calendar.  We are hoping you will join us, and perhaps while you are working on your family box, you will pass the idea along to other family members, friends and neighbors.   Just imagine what we can accomplish if everyone joins in!

Please be sure that none of your food items are open or expired, and avoid glass containers.  Your box can be dropped off at Grace Church on Thursday, December 23, between 8 AM and 2 PM in the southwest corner of the parking lot.  Just drive into the parking lot, pull up by the tent and we will happily help you with your donation.   If we are fortunate enough to collect 500+ lbs. of food, Island Harvest will make a pick-up from Grace; otherwise, we will drop our collection to the Island Harvest warehouse in Uniondale.  In 2020 we collected almost 1,500 lbs of food during Advent.   Our challenge is to do even better this year.  Please know that any and all donations are welcome - one can, a bag or a large box.

As we prepare for Christmas, may this season of Advent be one of hope and thankfulness for you and your families!

Thank you,

Debi & Richie Csajko
